Eggs and Apportionment

May 6, 2010

Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to another workshop we go!

In attendance for a casual morning of learning were Irwin Savodnik, M.D  along with associate psychiatrists Dr. Davies, Dr. Greenberg, Dr. Klemes and Dr. Strong. Everyone enjoyed a hearty breakfast in a private dining room at Marmalade Café before beginning the workshop. The May 2nd workshop covered 3 topics in the course of 3 hours.

Led by a local attorney, the session began with the subject of Good Faith Personnel Action - defining this type of action and if the employer acted in his/hers good faith conduct of the business, rather than with the intent to injure the worker.

The discussion on Apportionment followed, accompanied by cases to illustrate and analyze the challenging subject. This segment of the workshop was the hottest topic - inciting a lively exchange between attorney and doctors.

Lastly, current guidelines of the AMA were reviewed, defined and hashed over.

May 2nd’s workshop was not only educational, but it was a pleasant team building exercise for the NAS psychiatrists who do not see each other every day.

Stay tuned for our next continuing education workshop!
