Laura Davies received her MD in 1997 from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles. She completed her training in both General Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of San Francisco, where the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry awarded her the Ginsburg Fellowship.
Dr. Davies has been in private practice since 2002, where she specializes in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. Previously, she served as an Assistant Clinical Professor and practiced as a Child Psychiatrist at UCSF. She started her career at the Instituto Familiar de la Raza, where she held a position on the Psychiatric staff.
She is a Qualified Medical Examiner who, over the years, has also been active in several professional organizations, including as a Faculty Member of REACH (Recommendations for Employing Antipsychotics in Children and Adolescents) and as a Calmecac participant, a bicultural training program for mental health providers in the Latino community. Dr. Davies is also the recipient of many awards and honors, including the Henry F. Albronda Award upon the completion of her residency and the Irving Phillips Child Psychiatry Award.
She is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Fischer is a psychologist, helping to broaden NAS's expertise and brings a fresh perspective to reports. He received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Washington State University in 1972, after completing a Clinical Internship at the University of Minnesota, School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry.
Following the completion of his degree, Dr. Fischer joined a private practice and also provided inpatient services at several hospitals in southern California. He worked regularly with substance abuse patients, provided neuropsychological rehabilitation treatment plans, assisted veterans suffering from PTSD and afforded community consultation services.
Throughout his career, Dr. Fischer has remained an active member of the academic community. He taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Psychology at Chapman College, served as a consultant and trainer for Ettie Lee Homes for emotionally disturbed boys and sat on doctoral dissertation committees. In 1989 he launched his own private practice and in 1993 he joined Behavioral Medicine Professional Services, Inc.
A lover of theater, acting and singing, he has played leading roles in productions like South Pacific and Annie Get Your Gun. Dr. Fischer's comfort in front of an audience also fuels his interest in public speaking. He has been a television panelist and is a member of the International Platform Association. Currently, he is writing a science fiction novel that tells a tale of espionage entwined with a love story.
Dr. Fischer is a Qualified Medical Examiner.
Richard Greenberg has been practicing psychiatry in Southern California for nearly 50 years and he is proud of that clinical experience. A native of Minnesota, Dr. Greenberg earned his MD in 1956 from the University of Minnesota, St. Paul/Minneapolis. Departing Minnesota for Southern California, Dr. Greenberg completed his internship in 1957 at San Bernardino County Hospital. He was a resident in psychiatry at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Los Angeles and completed an additional year of residency at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute.
Dr. Greenberg has been in private practice in Southern California since 1962. He is a Qualified Medical Examiner, Board Eligible Psychiatrist. He also participates in several professional organizations, including South Bay Psychiatric Society, California Medical Association, and The Los Angeles County Medical Association.
In addition to his commitment to the private medical community, Dr. Greenberg served as a Captain in the United States Air Force Medical Corps, where he practiced at Parks AFB Hospital in California. Outside of his medical career, Dr. Greenberg has always made time for his other passion – singing. In his free time, you can find him harmonizing with a Barbershop chorus.
Marvin Klemes received his MD from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in 1945. He completed his internship at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Los Angeles, CA in 1946, where he completed his internship in 1946. He spent two years working as a Fellow in the Menninger School of Psychiatry at Winter Veterans Administration Hospital in Topeka, Kansas and an additional year at Veterans Adminstration Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Los Angeles.
Dr. Klemes began his career as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California School of Medicine in Los Angeles. Beginning in 1950, however, he went into private practice in Beverly Hills.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a Qualified Medical Examiner. Dr. Klemes is also a member of the Los Angeles County Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association and the Southern California Psychiatric Society, of which he was an original co-founder.
In addition to his years of psychiatric experience, Dr. Klemes is set apart by the work he’s done outside the medical profession. He has spent time as a human relations management consultant to large corporations and is a certified Medical Review Officer. When he finds some spare time, he remains active as both an avid tennis player and skier.

Dr. Lipovetsky is a trained psychiatrist and psychoanalyst with an interest in infant development. Dr. Lipovetsky completed his undergraduate and medical training at UCLA. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at UCLA San Fernando in 1993 and his residency in Psychiatry at UCLA's Neuropsychiatric Institute. He extended his training for additional year, with a fellowship in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, also from UCLA's Neuropsychiatric Institute. He later completed his psychoanalytic training from the Psychoanalytic Center of California.
Dr. Lipovetsky has been in private practice since 1996, where he specializes in infant and adult psychoanalysis. He was a founding member of THRIVE Infant Family Program, which assists parents in the early communication with their infants - especially in instances in which separation is required between mother and baby.
Throughout his career, Dr. Lipovetsky has continued his research, publishing and presenting regularly at medical conferences. He is a Qualified Medical Examiner, as well as a fellow of the International Psychoanalytic Association and a fellow of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Steven Rudolph joins the NAS team from San Diego. An osteopathic physician who is board certified in psychiatry with an emphasis in chemical dependency, Dr. Rudolph brings a unique perspective to his reports. Dr. Rudolph specializes in the assessment and treatment of complex cases of chronic pain, traumatic stress and substance abuse in the workplace.
He received his DO in 1992 from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and moved west to complete his internship in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Rudolph served as a Fellow in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program at the University of San Diego. He has been conducting medical legal exams for the workplace and other clients since 1997.
Dr. Rudolph is a member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a member of the San Diego Psychiatric Society and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
In his free time, Dr. Rudolph remains a competitive runner and tri-athlete.
Irwin Savodnik is the Medical Director at NAS, an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA, a member of the faculty at the Southern California Psychoanalytic Institute in Los Angeles and a philosopher.
He earned his MD in 1972 from Upstate Medical Center at State University of New York in Syracuse. During this time, he was also pursuing his Ph.D. in philosophy, which he received with Honors in 1970 from New York University. Dr. Savodnik began his psychiatric training at the University of California Irvine’s Orange County Medical Center, where he also started his psychiatric residency. He completed his residency in 1975 at Harvard University College of Medicine’s Massachusetts General Hospital. In 1986, Dr. Savodnik earned his Ph.D. from the Southern California Psychoanalytic Institute.
Dr. Savodnik began doing medical-legal evaluations in 1985 and launched NAS a few years later. Today NAS has 16 offices throughout California, employs 7 doctors and has completed thousands of reports.
But this was not the path Dr. Savodnik originally set off on. He began his medical career in the academy, serving as an Assistant Professor of psychiatry and the Director of Medical Student Education at the University of Pittsburgh. He later opened a private practice in Torrance, California. Throughout his career, Dr. Savodnik has remained committed to his passion for teaching, and he has taught and been on the faculty of many of the region’s universities, including UCLA and California State University of Fullerton.
He is married to Marlene Savodnik, Chief Operations Officer for NAS, has two children and two grandchildren. When he is not busy seeing patients, or teaching, Dr. Savodnik is a trained jazz pianist who can be heard performing around Los Angeles.
Barbara Strong brings an international component to NAS. She earned her MD in 1978 from La Salle University in Mexico City and is fluent in Spanish. She moved to Orange, California to pursue her professional training, completing her Internship in Internal Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine at UCI Medical Center and her residency in psychiatry at USC’s Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Dr. Strong’s medical experience is extensive, spanning General Practice as well as Psychiatry. She has been both a Mental Health Psychiatrist at the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, as well as a Staff Psychiatrist at the Pacific Clinic in West Covina for more than 10 years. Her career has included positions at numerous hospitals, mental health centers, as well as prisons around Southern California. She is Board Eligible in Psychiatry and a Qualified Medical Examiner.
In addition to her commitment as a physician, Dr. Strong is a devoted mother of ten.

Stephen Wilson came to psychiatry as a result of his work in the Peace Corps. A graduate of State University of New York Upstate Medical Center in 1965, Dr. Wilson completed his internship in 1966 at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital in Richmond, VA. He was a psychiatric resident from 1969-1972 at the Neuropsychiatric Institute at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and he completed a fellowship in Legal Psychiatry in 1973 at UCLA’s Neuropsychiatric Institute.
Dr. Wilson has been in private practice in Tarzana and Westlake Village since 1973. Prior to this, he served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at UCLA’s Neuropsychiatric Institute. He began his career as an instructor in the Department of Community Medicine at the State University of New York in Syracuse. For three years, Dr. Wilson was also a Clinical Assistant Professor at California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles.
When asked about his greatest professional accomplishment, Dr. Wilson says it was developing and implementing a polio immunization program, which helped protect nearly 80,000 children from the debilitating disease. He is a member of the Board of American Psychiatry and Neurology, as well as a Qualified Medical Examiner. He is also a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Southern California Psychiatric Society, the Southern California Society for Adolescent Psychiatry and the Southern California American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.
When he is not busy seeing patients Dr. Wilson is a dedicated reader, photographer and grandfather.
